Hamburg (dpa / lno) - On Good Friday evening, the nightly exit restriction decreed by the red-green Senate to contain the corona pandemic came into force for the first time.

Until further notice, the people of Hamburg are only allowed to leave their apartments between 9 p.m. in the evening and 5 a.m. for a valid reason.

In addition to going to work, this also includes walking the dog or a walk in the fresh air, but always alone.

The regulation will initially apply until April 18, but should be extended if the number of infections does not decrease significantly.

Shortly before it came into force, left-wing groups demonstrated against the Senate's corona policy on the town hall market.

Instead of restricting private contacts unilaterally, companies would have to be shut down, speakers said - according to the police - around 250 participants.

Left and left-wing extremist groups such as the Interventionist Left, the DKP, the Federation of Democratic Workers' Associations and the International Youth Association called for the demonstration.
