Schools closed their doors on Friday evening for several weeks, in accordance with new measures announced against the coronavirus epidemic.

For millions of students across France, it will take several weeks to find their classmates.

In an attempt to curb the third wave of the coronavirus epidemic, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron indeed announced on Wednesday the closure of schools throughout the territory.

But if this measure was demanded by some of the staff and parents, on the side of the latter, some regret the lack of time to organize, and fear reliving the scenario of the first confinement of a year ago.

At the end of class, in front of a Toulouse school, some parents wished each other good luck when it came to picking up their children for the last time.

Isabelle, she apprehends the return of homework for her son of CE2 while she telecommutes.

“Last year it was sport, so I think this year too,” she explains, noting that “telecommuting is better organized”. 

"A little short organization time"

"We have planned activities, things he can do on his own while I'm teleworking", continues this mother, who lists: "reading, a little TV, a little console, and then also solidarity between parents of students ". 

For Nathalie, nurse, it was necessary to get organized very quickly, but everything is not yet stalled.

"We had planned the week of vacation, on call on days when they were at school, on call nights where you have to sleep while the children are at home", she explains, finding "the deadline 48-hour organization a bit short ".

Amber does not work, which simplifies her task a little.

"We have no choice. If they made this decision, it is because they could not do otherwise," she thinks.

Above all, she believes that the closure of repeated classes could not last any longer.

"Those who are in college, they are contact cases every three days. At one point, this is no longer possible," she concludes.

If they are divided on the closure of schools, these parents hope in any case that it will have an effect on the epidemic, and that the schedule presented by the President of the Republic will be respected.

Nurseries, schools, colleges and high schools must close for three to four weeks.
