The FSB of Russia detained a resident of the Altai Territory, who was planning to carry out "acts of intimidation" in the region.

The press service of the department explained that his activities were suppressed in the framework of a criminal case under Article 205.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (training for carrying out terrorist activities).

“In the city of Barnaul, a local resident, a citizen of the Russian Federation born in 2000, was detained, who planned, on the instructions of the so-called curator of the Ukrainian nationalist organization“ Ethnic National Association ”(“ ENO ”), to carry out“ direct action ”actions aimed at intimidating the local population, including the number of immigrants from the Central Asian region, in relation to the objects of mass gathering of Muslims, ”the message says.

It is clarified that we are talking about an organization created to coordinate the actions of the nationalists of Ukraine, Belarus and Russia in carrying out actions of "direct action" against persons of non-Slavic appearance and government bodies.

It is noted that the association conducts propaganda work in social networks.

At the places of residence of the detainee, the security forces found explosives, instructions for making improvised explosive devices, extremist literature, as well as means of communication with photographs of the alleged targets of the attack, sent to the Ukrainian "curator".

According to the FSB, the detainee confessed to the crime he was charged with.

According to the ministry, in February 2021, the attacker "proactively contacted a representative of the group" in connection with dissatisfaction with the state policy in the field of migration. "

After that, he was instructed to select the target for the attack and to commit either arson or "other actions intimidating the population."

The department also published a record of the arrest and interrogation of the attacker.

“It was possible to carry out arson, it was supposed to be the easiest option, or, for example, undermining,” he said.

"I wanted to choose a goal for myself - to blow up the Barnaul mosque."

Fight against Ukrainian radical communities in Russia
