Dresden / Berlin (dpa / sn) - The weekly value of new corona infections has risen slightly again in Saxony after a temporary decline.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) put the incidence on Thursday at 190.3.

On Wednesday the new infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants was 182.3 and on Tuesday 193.4.

Nationwide, the value on Thursday was 134.2.

After Thuringia (254.0), Saxony still has the second highest incidence of all federal states.

The Vogtland remains the negative leader in Saxony.

There, however, the incidence fell again - from 416.8 on Wednesday to 404.4.

The value also fell in the neighboring district of Zwickau (256.8), while in the Ore Mountains it rose from 227.5 to 245.8.

The city of Leipzig continues to have the lowest seven-day incidence among the 13 regions with 111.4.

According to the RKI, there were 13 new deaths in Saxony.

This means that 8373 corona patients have died in the Free State since the beginning of the pandemic.
