A man detained in Charente-Maritime for rape, was sentenced to 20 in prison and his former fellow inmate to 10 years, for a project of kidnapping and rape of the daughter of the first, aged nine.

"The maximum sentences have been pronounced", commented the lawyer of the child, underlining "a rare decision in correctional". 

A forty-something, who from Charente-Maritime prison where he was detained for rape had planned the kidnapping of his own 9-year-old girl so that she could be raped, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, the prosecutor's office said on Thursday. Saintes.

This same sentence had been requested at the criminal court of Saintes, against the defendant, who was tried Wednesday behind closed doors for criminal conspiracy for a criminal act, attempted kidnapping of a minor under 15 years old, detention and dissemination of child pornography images.

His co-convict, a 44-year-old Vosges, was sentenced to ten years in prison, in accordance with the requisitions.

He had been in contact with the detainee via a darknet child pornography social network, and had been arrested in Bordeaux, in November 2018, while he was traveling to Charente-Maritime to put the plan into action.

At the origin of the case, according to a source close to the file, a specialized agent of the judicial police of Lyon had carried out a "cyber patrol" by infiltrating the darknet, and had come across the project of the detainee, who was purging a sentence for rape of minors committed against members of his family - but not his daughter.

His accomplice had been arrested in Bordeaux by men from the Lyon judicial police, helped by colleagues from Bordeaux, Nancy and La Rochelle.

He was carrying equipment to subject the child to acts of torture and barbarism.

The man had previously been convicted of possessing child pornography images.
