The Interview - Bintou Keita, head of Monusco: "With the upsurge in attacks, there is frustration"

The security of civilians in the east of the country remains one of the major challenges of its mission.

Bintou Keita, special representative for the Democratic Republic of Congo and new head of MONUSCO (UN Mission in DR Congo), aims to strengthen operational links between UN forces and those of the Congolese government to fight more effectively against armed groups.

"We are not quite where we should be in terms of joint operations yet, but I think we are heading in the right direction," she said.
