Judge Fadi Sawan, the judicial investigator in the Beirut Port bombing, issued today two arrest warrants for those arrested in the explosion, which increased the number of victims to 182, and the number of wounded reached more than 6 thousand and more than 300 thousand displaced persons.

The National Information Agency (official) reported that Sawan had arrested the port authority’s head, the acting regional director, Hanna Fares, who is considered the direct head of the Manifest Department (ship cargo data), who was arrested in the case, Nehme Albraks.

He also issued an arrest warrant for the engineer, Nayla al-Hajj, who is in charge of the company undertaking the maintenance work of ward No. 12, from the team that carried out maintenance over a period of three days, not just on the day of the explosion, on the 4th of this month.

The number of suspects that the Public Prosecution has charged so far has reached 25, of whom 19 are arrested.

In turn, Reda Al-Mousawi, an advisor to the Lebanese Minister of Health, declared that the medical aid that arrived in Lebanon after the explosion was insufficient.

"The Ministry of Health needs more aid, due to the huge explosion, and damage to many hospitals in the capital, and four of them have completely stopped working," Moussawi said.

And the resulting explosion - according to the official version of the ignition of 2,750 tons of confiscated ammonium nitrate - caused massive damage to the port and its surroundings, and in a number of the capital's streets.

The Lebanese army units continue to search for people missing in connection with the explosion, with the participation of international rescue teams in the port area.

In addition, NGOs and a number of young people from all Lebanese regions organize individual initiatives to help the affected people in a number of the capital's streets that were destroyed by the explosion.

In the context, the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jan Kubitsch, tweeted - on his Twitter account - "Either the international community immediately takes the initiative to help rehabilitate the demolished homes and restore them with basic services, including water and electricity, in the neighborhoods that were destroyed due to the explosion of the Beirut port, or Beirut will face The risk of losing part of its history, architectural heritage and character of its ancient neighborhoods forever. "

"The choice is clear: either urgent international assistance based on the needs of the affected population, or allowing real estate whales to kill an important piece of Beirut ... the heart of Lebanon," he added.
