Regensburg (dpa / lby) - In the night from Wednesday to Thursday there was a cellar fire in the Regensburg district of Dech Betten.

According to initial findings, the fire broke out in a hobby room, as the fire brigade announced.

In the adjacent underground car park, there was therefore a lot of smoke.

Two families were handed over to the rescue service.

According to the information, they did not have to seek medical treatment.

The fire brigade was able to prevent further spread of the smoke and damage to the building.

In addition, other buildings connected to the underground car park were checked and carbon monoxide measurements were carried out.

Around 60 firefighters were on duty.

The cause of the fire was a technical defect in an electrical system.

The amount of property damage was initially unclear.
