Chemnitz (dpa / sn) - After an apartment fire in Chemnitz, the police arrested a suspected arsonist.
The officials had become aware of the woman who was still near the house on Wednesday evening after a witness reference.
According to the Chemnitz police department, the 38-year-old is suspected of having started the fire and fled the apartment.
The motive is still being determined.
Apparently, the woman was not the tenant of the apartment.
The police are currently checking whether they have lived unreported in the house, said Andrzej Rydzik on Thursday.
The criminal police are still investigating the exact cause of the fire.
Initially, no information could be given about the amount of damage.
