Wismar (dpa / mv) - The police in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania increasingly controls entry into the state on Easter days.

For this purpose, stationary and mobile teams are in use, as the police announced.

On Thursday, for example, vehicles were checked on the A20, the so-called Baltic Sea motorway.

Since the beginning of this week, the Sassnitz police station on Rügen has initiated administrative offenses against 26 people on suspicion of violating the Corona state ordinance in connection with tourist travel and passed them on to the responsible regulatory authorities, it said on request.

According to the state government, tourist entries to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are generally prohibited against the background of the corona pandemic, and day tourism is also not allowed.

However, there are exceptions for entry.

Those who have a second home in MV are therefore allowed to enter the country.

Travel to the federal state is also permitted if the nuclear family is visited.

According to the information, this includes children, parents, siblings or life partners.
