Pforzheim (dpa / lsw) - A fire truck collided with a vehicle near Pforzheim and a 77-year-old woman was killed.
A 78-year-old man was seriously injured, the police said on Thursday.
The fire engine had turned to the left and collided with the oncoming vehicle for a reason that was not clear at first.
Two people sat in it.
The passenger in the car suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident.
Despite immediate rescue measures by the occupants of the fire engine and the emergency services and emergency doctor who were called in, she died in the hospital.
The firefighters were uninjured but were in shock.
