Potsdam (dpa / bb) - Brandenburg is this year partner country of the wind industry fair "Husum Wind".

The country was selected for the expansion of renewable energies due to the strong impetus from the mark, the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced on Thursday.

"With the ambitious expansion target for wind energy of 10,500 megawatts by 2030 and second place behind Lower Saxony in terms of the installed capacity of wind turbines, Brandenburg is exemplary," it said.

The "Husum Wind" has been held every two years since 1989 in Husum in Schleswig-Holstein in North Frisia.

Among other things, new technological developments in the field of wind energy will be presented at the trade fair.
