Berlin (dpa / bb) - In Berlin, the number of people who are verifiably infected with the corona virus is increasing.

1205 new infections were last reported, according to the Senate Health Administration's report on Thursday.

The day before, 1012 new infections had been registered.

Within a week, 141.6 infections per 100,000 inhabitants were registered, the previous day the value was given as 138.1.

Politicians are currently looking closely at this so-called seven-day incidence.

Since the beginning of the pandemic a year ago, 147,466 infections have been reported in Berlin.

3,071 people have died in connection with the coronavirus since then, adding 16 deaths.

134 566 people are now considered to have recovered.

The Berlin Corona traffic light continues to show red with the incidence. With the so-called R value, it is 0.70 (previous day 0.85) in the green area.

The R value indicates how many people an infected person infects on average.

20.2 percent of the intensive care beds are occupied by Covid 19 patients, a little more than the day before (19.3 percent).
