"You will see"

Édouard Philippe assumes it: he "likes to be in charge".

Yet here he is deprived of the controls of Matignon for nine months, but he leaves nothing to leak from his plans for the future.

The only thing he says for sure is that he has no intention of seeing his ideas "go to waste" without fighting for them.

As for the methods, he says nothing more: "You will see."

The Prime Minister always ensures to keep a cool head vis-a-vis his popularity which he says "as solid as a billow of smoke".

Édouard Philippe's return coincides with a time when the head of state, Emmanuel Macron, must resolve to close schools again.

A decision which, last year, had made Édouard Philippe weep with rage and sadness, says the former head of government, who had also always been reluctant to talk about the world after.

"I find it unwise until the crisis has finished producing its effects," he said.

Emmanuel Macron, he had spoken about it on April 13, in the heart of the first wave.

While Édouard Philippe still enjoys a good popularity rating, the macronie may have to watch his every word during the promotion of his essay.
