Paris (AP) - A good seven months after the lost final against FC Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain is ready for a revenge, according to Thilo Kehrer.

"The frustration was of course huge, but now we have converted it into motivation - and it has now become even greater to win the Champions League now," said the defensive player of the French soccer champions of "Sport Bild".

The Parisians lost the final of the premier class at the end of August 1-0 against the German record champions.

Next Wednesday PSG will play in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League against the Bundesliga leaders in Munich.

Kehrer, who moved to Paris from FC Schalke 04 in 2018, thinks highly of his world-class teammates Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

"What impressed me: The expectations of Kylian are always extremely high, and yet he can withstand the pressure," said the nine-time German international.

The fact that the striker didn't let himself down when things didn't go so well for him in the first half of the championship “speaks for his strength of character”.

The 24-year-old Kehrer appreciates Neymar's service to the team.

The Brazilian knows that he has a certain status because of his class - and yet he does not use it or pretend to be aloof.

“On the contrary, he's very pleasant, always contributing to the team on the pitch and in the dressing room.

He's a real leader, ”said Kehrer.

Like his PSG teammate Julian Draxler, he was recently not nominated by national coach Joachim Löw for the current international game period.
