I am worried about the situation, says infection control doctor Lisa Labbé Sandelin during Wednesday's press conference.
In short, the new stricter regional recommendations mean:
• Recommendation to use a mouth guard for everyone who travels by public transport, regardless of the time of day
• Recommendation to use mouth guards in workplaces where it is not possible to keep sufficient distance from each other
• The local infection situation must be weighed heavily in the assessment regarding decisions on distance education for upper secondary school during the week after the Easter break
The region also strongly advises against meeting people outside the household during the Easter weekend.
The decision on the new local recommendations for Kalmar County applies from 1 April to 16 May, but they will be reconsidered on an ongoing basis according to the infection situation.
They apply to everyone who lives and works in Kalmar County, and regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not.
The decision on the stricter recommendations has been made by the infection control doctor in consultation with the Swedish Public Health Agency and the County Administrative Board.
