Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - To track contacts in the corona pandemic, Saarland wants to use the so-called Luca app in the future.

The state chancellery in Saarbrücken announced on Wednesday that all six health departments could already be connected to the application software this week by decision of the state government.

"So that the Saarland model can work and more public life can be made possible again, we need an effective and easy-to-use contact tracking solution," said Prime Minister Tobias Hans.

The Luca app combines all the necessary criteria in a digital version of contact tracking.

"In addition, a digital test certificate and a digital vaccination certificate are integrated into the app, so that you have all the necessary evidence together in one app," emphasized the CDU politician.

Last Thursday, Hans announced that the corona rules (“Saarland model”) would be relaxed from April 6th - provided the 7-day incidence is stable at less than 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

On Monday evening he announced via Twitter that the start date could be postponed “due to exponential growth of a third wave”.

The model will definitely come.
