Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The member of the state parliament of the Left, Peter Ritter, has called for a complete clarification of the processes surrounding the private shooting range in Güstrow, which has also been used by the police for years.

Investigations by the Dresden Public Prosecutor's Office against Saxon police officers became known on Tuesday.

They are accused of stealing at least 7000 rounds of ammunition from service stocks in November 2018 and using them as payment for private shooting training in Güstrow.

According to the Schwerin Ministry of the Interior, police officers from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania had also trained on the shooting range, and some of them later found out that they were active in the “Nordkreuz” prepper group.

A large arms and ammunition store had been discovered in one of the leading figures, an ex-police officer.

He was then given a suspended sentence for illegally possessing weapons.
