Nuremberg (dpa / lby) - 1. FC Nuremberg will have to do without Felix Lohkemper for the rest of the season in the 2nd Bundesliga.
The striker will be operated on on the pool this Thursday, as the "club" announced.
The 26-year-old has been missing from the FCN since mid-December.
Because the pain due to a bone edema in the pelvic area did not go away with the conservative treatments, the operation will now take place in a clinic in Berlin.
"We all had the great and justified hope that I could get around an operation," said Lohkemper in a statement on Wednesday.
But this hope was not fulfilled.
In the first phase of the season, Lohkemper was one of the most dangerous offensive players in the Franks with four goals and five assists in eleven league games.
