Berlin (dpa / bb) - The Berlin CDU has criticized the Senate's new corona test requirements for citizens and companies.

"Demanding mandatory tests but not making them available throughout the city does not create trust," said CDU state chairman Kai Wegner on Wednesday.

"The lack of test centers in the outskirts is a huge problem," said the politician.

“The new Corona shopping rules threaten to fail because of reality.

Nobody drives four kilometers to the next test center to go shopping in their own neighborhood. "

The Senate must now ensure a really comprehensive test offer at high pressure.

"Even the testing of employees by the companies leaves those involved at a loss," said Wegner.

Because there is a shortage of certified tests, many companies cannot obtain them in a short period of time.

The Senate must now help out at short notice with tests at cost price and then ensure that enough tests are regularly available for everyone.

Since Wednesday, customers in many shops, but also at the hairdresser's, need a negative corona test.

This does not apply to supermarkets, pharmacies and drug stores.

Companies are obliged to offer their employees who do not work at home a rapid corona test twice a week.
