London (AP) - Pop superstar Dua Lipa is nominated in three categories at the Brit Awards this year and is considered the favorite.
The British woman has a chance of winning a prize as the best national artist, for the best album (“Future Nostalgia”) and the best single (“Physical”).
Celeste (“Little Runaway”) and Arlo Parks (“Hope”) have also been nominated for three Brit Awards each.
The singers compete for the best album as well as the best national artist and best newcomer.
After criticism last year that women were underrepresented, they are now outnumbered in the top category “Best British Album”.
Among the five nominees, the rapper J Hus is the only man.
He is also nominated for best artist.
Singer Harry Styles was surprisingly not included in the category.
The former One Direction star has a chance of winning the Brit for the best single (“Watermelon Sugar”).

The multiple Brit winners Little Mix and The 1975, among others, can hope for the band award.
The Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro, which was nominated in 2011 and 2017, but received nothing on both occasions, is one of the candidates again.
The most prominent names can be found in the international sections of the Brit Awards 2021.
There old rocker Bruce Springsteen competes against The Weeknd, Childish Gambino and Tame Impala.
The top stars Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift are nominated as best international artists.
After no Brit Award was given for the best international band in 2020, the category was reintroduced this year.
The Korean boy band BTS is a favorite.
The Foo Fighters, Haim, Fontaines DC and Run The Jewels are also nominated.
