"A second wave" of arrests with more than ten people placed in police custody in Corsica and on the continent intervened on Wednesday in the financial section of the investigation into the Corsican criminal gang of "Petit Bar", has t - we learned from corroborating sources.

Seven people are currently being heard by the research section of the Corsican gendarmerie in Ajaccio in “the financial aspect” of this investigation led by the interregional jurisdiction specializing in organized crime (JIRS) in Marseille, said a source familiar with the matter.

Several other arrests have taken place on the continent and searches are underway as part of this "second wave" which made it possible to challenge a "figure" of Corsican banditry, said another source close to the investigation.

The investigation targets acts of extortion and money laundering in an organized gang, criminal conspiracy and non-justification of resources.
