The UAE was represented in the international conference, which was held by means of visual communication technology, Minister of State Khalifa Shaheen Al-Marar, along with representatives of donor countries and specialized humanitarian organizations and bodies.

In a speech to the conference, Al-Marr affirmed that the UAE believes in a strong belief in a political solution as the only way out of the Syrian crisis, with its full support for the efforts of the United Nations and the United Nations Special Envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, as well as other international mediation efforts aimed at reaching a peace agreement, based on the conference. He reiterated the UAE’s rejection of foreign interference in the Syrian affairs, and stressed the importance of an effective Arab role in Syria, and helping the Syrians return to their Arab surroundings.

He pointed out that the UAE has embraced more than 130,000 Syrians on its land since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, and explained that the UAE over these years of war and suffering has remained in support of the Syrian people, extending the hand of giving with aid and support to the Syrian brothers inside Syria or in neighboring countries hosting refugees. .

He pointed out that, over the past 10 years, the UAE has provided more than $ 1.11 billion in aid to relief Syrian refugees, whether inside Syria or in Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Greece.

He affirmed the UAE’s interest in working to mitigate the humanitarian impacts and health threats posed by the "Covid-19" pandemic in Syria and on refugees.
