Magdeburg (AP) - Handball Bundesliga club SC Magdeburg has sovereignly reached the quarter-finals in the European League and has now set the record from the 2016/17 season with 22 games without defeat in a row.

The SCM won the second leg against Eurofarm Pelister from North Macedonia on Tuesday evening with 35:24 (14: 9).

The best SCM thrower was Justus Kluge with seven goals, for Pelister Stipe Mandalinic was the most successful with seven goals.

In the quarter-finals, Magdeburg meets the Swedish club IFK Kristianstad.

Magdeburg sinned at the beginning when exploiting opportunities, but was safe against motivated guests at the back.

Five hits were enough to lead to a two-goal lead (5: 3/11.).

Until the break, Magdeburg increased the lead to five goals, a surprise was never in the air after the SCM's 32:24 first leg win.

After the break, the guests tried everything again, but the SCM saved strength before the league duel with SG Flensburg-Handewitt and still had the game under control at all times.
