Retired from the small screen since his departure from France 2 in 2019, Patrick Sébastien will make a return in minor mode on C8 in April with reruns of the “Biggest cabaret in the world” and “Years of happiness,” the channel announced on Tuesday.

"Every Saturday" at 9:05 p.m., from April 17, Patrick Sébastien will present "Samedi Sébastien" where he "will propose to review an old successful number" of his two flagship shows, "in a new, updated version, more up-to-date and more rhythmic ", according to the C8 press release.

Contacted by AFP, the channel of the Canal + group specified that the "updating" of the original broadcasts would involve the withdrawal of passages that have become "obsolete", such as for example the promotion of an artist for an album released there. a few years.

The host will simply launch the show on set, the same source added.

Patrick Sébastien will thus share "his best memories and his most beautiful emotions on television", resulting from his 23 years at France Télévisions.

This close friend of Cyril Hanouna had already been honored on C8, with two documentaries in November, "Sébastien à la TV, c'est fou!", And a replay of the show "Ze Fiesta! 40 years on the stage "last December 31.

The management of France Télévisions had decided in October 2018 not to renew it at the start of the 2019 school year, the host seeing it as an "unfair" eviction for viewers.

In October, France 2 launched "Spectaculaire", a new program dedicated to performing arts, presented by Jean-Marc Généreux, the former Quebec juror of "Dance with the stars" (TF1).

The leader of the public group Delphine Ernotte then declared in the press to have proposed to Patrick Sébastien "to evolve, to modernize the concept" of "the largest cabaret in the world".

But "he declined", she lamented, assuring that she would have "preferred" to keep him on the air.
