Budapest (dpa) - National coach Stefan Kuntz relies on newcomer Mateo Klimowicz in the starting line-up for the last European Championship preliminary round match of his U21 footballers.

The 20-year-old from VfB Stuttgart is in the starting line-up for the first time in today's game against Romania (6 p.m. / ProSieben) in Budapest.

The recently ailing Niklas Dorsch and captain Arne Maier can play from the start, while Jonathan Burkardt from FSV Mainz 05, who is suffering from adductor problems, sits on the bench again at the beginning.

The Fürth David Raum replaces Ismail Jakobs from 1. FC Köln in the left-back position.

Raum had already played in the first European Championship game against Hungary from the start, Klimowicz was last substituted on twice when he was nominated for the German U21.

In addition, Kuntz trusts the same starting line-up that last fought 1-1 (0-0) against the Netherlands.

As expected, the ailing striker Youssoufa Moukoko is not there, while Finn Dahmen is back in goal after his bad mistake.

The DFB selection is enough in the game a draw for the safe quarter-finals.

With a win, the Kuntz-Elf would also have won the group, but with a defeat, the first German qualifying round since the EM 2013 would still be possible.

The German starting XI: Dahmen - Vagnoman, Pieper, Schlotterbeck, Raum - Maier, Dorsch - Baku, Klimowicz, Berisha - Nmecha
