On Sunday, the Liberal Party Council voted to aim for a bourgeois government that can seek support from all parties, including the Sweden Democrats.

In an interview in DN, Stefan Löfven says that the decision is surprising and believes that the election risks leading Sweden in a non-democratic direction.

Moderate leader Ulf Kristersson calls the statement astonishing.

- Apart from the fact that I think it is senseless hypocrisy in that they themselves would not hesitate for a moment to take the support of the Sweden Democrats if it would have suited their purpose, I think it is completely unworthy to suggest that political dissidents threaten democracy to you do not want a social democratic government, says Kristersson.

Kristersson: When S receives support from SD, they see no problems

According to the Moderate leader, there are several examples of issues where the Social Democrats have received Sweden Democratic support.

- When he wanted to get through his tax policy, they took the support of the Sweden Democrats under the bourgeois government.

When they got the Sweden Democrats' support in the defense preparation, they had no problem with that either, says Kristersson:

- When we say that we are prepared to settle with parties on issues where we think the same, the Prime Minister says that it is a threat to liberal democracy.

It is a hypocrisy that is unparalleled in Swedish history, I would like to say.

Sabuni: Will go to the polls on our own policy

In Expressen, the Liberal party leader Nyamko Sabuni defends the choice of path.

According to her, Stefan Löfven's statement is about shifting the focus from his own party's failure and political promises.

- He does not speak for the best for the Swedish people, he speaks based on his own party's interest.

But the Liberals will not contribute to an eternal social democratic hold on power.

We will go to the polls on our own policy and we believe that it is a bourgeois government that is best suited to tackle the societal problems we see and we are prepared to talk to all elected representatives in the Riksdag and we will never give up our liberals core values, says Sabuni.
