Reinsdorf (dpa / th) - A loud bang not only woke a couple in Reinsdorf (Kyffhäuserkreis) on Tuesday night, but also drew attention to a fire in their garage.
According to police, flames struck a 52-year-old when he opened the garage.
Together with his 48-year-old wife, the man tried to put out the fire, but without success.
The fire brigade put out the flames, the estimated property damage was according to the police at more than 30,000 euros.
Nobody got hurt.
A technical defect is said to have been the cause of the fire in the garage used as a workshop.
"Probably the charging of a tool battery with a charger was the cause," said the police.
