Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The start of the Corona model projects in Brandenburg is postponed.

This was announced by Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) on Tuesday.

"In my opinion, that is the wrong signal where we have a massive increase in infections," said the head of government in Potsdam about the projects.

He had therefore previously agreed with the mayors and district administrators not to include any model projects in the current containment ordinance.

"Postponed means that we will deal with the topic again on the basis of the proposals already made, if the infection situation allows."

Model projects in districts or cities should allow relaxation - for the necessary leeway, corona tests and an app for contact tracking should create.

Several municipalities had signaled their interest, including Potsdam and Cottbus.

In a first step last Saturday, Potsdam made it possible to shop in the city's retail trade with a corona test and appointment allocation.

Because the seven-day incidence was over 100 on three consecutive days, the state capital pulled the emergency brake on Tuesday.

The city announced that the country's containment ordinance will apply from Wednesday, the retail trade will have to close.
