Eisenberg / Schleifreisen (dpa / th) - A trailer truck loaded with wood caught fire on the A9 motorway near Eisenberg (Saale-Holzland district).
People were not injured, as the Thuringia autobahn police department announced in grinding trips.
The driver steered the truck onto the hard shoulder on Tuesday morning.
The fire had broken out in the tractor for an initially unknown cause and had spread to the semi-trailer loaded with impregnated garden wood.
The fire was extinguished, but the Munich lane was initially still completely closed.
The traffic jammed for a length of about eight kilometers.
