Sports commentators in Egypt have criticized the failure to secure the star of the Egyptian national team and Liverpool club, Mohamed Salah, after the end of Monday's match against Comoros at the end of the African Nations Cup qualifiers.

The video footage showed that a number of fans entered the stadium immediately after the match ended and ran towards Salah, who initially responded to the fans by taking pictures with them, but when he got close to him, he appeared resentful and eventually had to run from the stadium to escape from the crowd.

Commenting on this, the former Egyptian national team star, Ahmed Hossam (Mido), said on the Egyptian "Al-Nahar" satellite channel that the crowd's rallying around Salah after the match "harms Egypt" against Europe.

He said, "This picture may make the English government force Salah to go into isolation upon returning to his club, Liverpool, for fear that he was exposed to Corona infection."

Mido added, "These pictures hurt Salah, and may force him to miss 3 or 4 matches in the English Premier League," and he asked with disapproval, "Who is responsible for securing the players on the stadium in Egypt ?!"

For his part, the former captain of the Egyptian national team, Wael Gomaa, said on the "BN Sports" channel that these footage indicates the lack of professionalism of the officials of the Egyptian national team in securing players, especially the international star Mohamed Salah, which must be secured and preserved.

Former footballer Magdy Abdel-Ghani also criticized what he called the "medical bubble" of the Egyptian national team players, especially the star Mohamed Salah, asking, "Where is the guard in charge of securing Salah from this chaos ?!"

"The fans of the English club Liverpool are angry on Twitter, and they are demanding that Mohamed Salah not be allowed to play with the Egyptian national team again," Abdel-Ghani said on his program "With the Bulldozer" on the Egyptian satellite channel Al-Shams.

In turn, the journalist Amr Adib called for an investigation into what happened with Salah, saying, "Where is the Football Association about what happened? It must protect the players and the technical staff from such matters, so that the players are not exposed to any harm."

Salah scored two of 4 goals for his country against the Comoros, to take the Pharaohs team to the top of the group and climb to the African Nations Cup scheduled in Cameroon early next year.

Salah was infected with the Corona virus, last November, on the eve of his country's team's confrontation with Togo in the African Nations Cup qualifiers.
