Kiel (dpa / lno) - A 40-year-old man from Hamburg is sitting in the dock in Kiel for unauthorized handling of around 600 kilograms of marijuana and several kilograms of cocaine and amphetamines.

Prosecutor Barbara Westermeyer charged the man with 27 cases in front of the Kiel regional court on Tuesday.

Crime scenes were therefore Norderstedt, Hamburg and Neumünster.

Westermeyer said at the beginning of the process that a large marijuana plantation had been planned and prepared in Norderstedt in a rented industrial hall measuring several hundred square meters.

According to the indictment, 1,000 ecstasy tablets are also among the drugs with which the defendant is said to have dealt in the period from January to October 2020.

In connection with ongoing investigations in Neumünster, the man happened to be targeted by investigators as a supplier.

He was later arrested in his Hamburg apartment.

If convicted of a crime under the Narcotics Act (BtMG), he faces one to 15 years imprisonment.

According to estimates by the public prosecutor's office, marijuana is currently traded at prices between three and ten euros per gram.

For cocaine, 28 to 50 euros per gram would be charged and for amphetamines 2.50 to 8 euros per gram would be paid.
