113 ships crossed the Suez Canal after resuming navigation

Today, Tuesday, Egyptian television reported that more than 100 ships have crossed the Suez Canal in both directions since the delinquent ship floated, which disrupted movement in the shipping lane.

The report stated that about 113 vessels had crossed the canal by 0600 GMT this morning, in line with the plans announced by the Canal Authority.

Navigation resumed in the Suez Canal yesterday afternoon, after the floatation of the huge container ship Evergreen, which blocked the waterway for nearly a week, while more than 400 ships were waiting to cross the shipping lane.

The ship Evergiven diverted and closed the canal width in a southern sector of it on the morning of March 23, which led to the suspension of cargo traffic in the shortest shipping route between Europe and Asia.

The Evergreen Line company, which leases the vessel, Evergiven, said that it will be examined in the Great Bitter Lake, which lies between two sections of the canal, for examination to ensure it is seaworthy.

Rabie said, "The vessel is ready for limited sailing after the initial inspection, and no container of its containers has been damaged, but the second examination will be very accurate and if any effect occurs, it will appear in this examination."
