Wall Street ended in dispersed order Monday, repeating a mechanism at work for several weeks on the US stock market, which is for investors to offload technology stocks and bet on cyclical stocks.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.30% to 33,171.37 points, hitting a new record, while the technology-heavy Nasdaq fell 0.60% to 13,059.65 points.

The broader S&P 500 index, more representative of the US economy, dropped 0.09% to 3,971.09 points.

At the start of the session, the New York Stock Exchange was somewhat confused by the massive sale of shares held by Archegos Capital Management, an investment company based in New York.

Establishments like Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Banke sold over the weekend of shares held by Archegos for a total amount of up to $ 30 billion, US media reported.

Credit Suisse and the Japanese bank Nomura have warned that their results will suffer from the sale, which notably concerned the shares of Chinese companies listed on Wall Street and American media companies such as ViacomCBS and Discovery.

But Wall Street quickly recovered, with several observers pointing out that the exposure of major US banks appeared minimal.

Morgan Stanley (-2.63%,) Goldman Sachs (-0.51%,), Bank of America (-0.96%,), JP Morgan Chase (-1.55%,) and Wells Fargo (-3 , 32%,) nevertheless ended up in the red.

Among the other values ​​of the day, Boeing rose 2.31%.
