Rostock (dpa / mv) - In connection with a deprivation of liberty, the Rostock district court has issued an arrest warrant against a 37-year-old man from Rostock.

As the police announced on Monday, the suspect and an accomplice are said to have held another Rostock man in his apartment for hours, beat him and tormented him with burning cigarette butts.

The incident is said to have occurred last Friday in the Evershagen district and dragged on for over 14 hours.

The 28-year-old victim went to the police after she was able to escape "with the help of another person".

The officers placed the suspect in his apartment, where evidence was also found.

The 37-year-old is accused of deprivation of liberty, dangerous bodily harm, threats and embezzlement.

He was arrested on Saturday.

Both men and the 14-year-old alleged accomplice of the arrested person are said to have known each other and got into an argument while watching TV.

Among other things, "visible injuries in the abdominal area" were found in the victim.
