She didn't have time to get to the maternity ward.

Sunday morning, shortly after 6 a.m., the Lot firefighters received a phone call for childbirth.

Except that the parturient was not at home, but on the A20 motorway, at the Gignac toll, not far from the border with Corrèze.

A rescue and assistance vehicle for the victims of Souillac was sent to the site.

When he arrived, the baby was already born, the 30-year-old mother, already mother of a child, had given birth to it in her car.

The little girl and her mother, who were doing well, were taken care of and first aid was provided, in particular by a team from the SMUR from Brive dispatched to the site.

A midwife from the firefighters was also on the phone to assist them.

The mother and her little daughter were then taken to the maternity hospital.
