China News Agency, Jakarta, March 29 (Reporter Lin Yongchuan) The spokesperson of the Indonesian National Police Department, Algo, reported on the 29th that the suicide occurred outside a Catholic church in Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi Province, the previous day. The bombers were a couple who had been married for only 6 months.

  Algo stated that the Indonesian police confirmed the identity of the two attackers through motorcycle photos, video photos, and DNA comparisons. They were all affiliated with the Indonesian local extremist organization "Theocratic Guerrillas". The anti-terrorist police searched them in Maka. Residence in Tin City.

  At a press conference held in South Sulawesi province that day, Indonesian National Police Chief Listyo (Listyo) said that after the bombing, the country’s anti-terrorist police were in South Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara, Operations were launched in Jakarta and the 4 provinces of West Java and 13 terrorists were arrested.

  At around 10:20 on the 28th local time, a suicide bombing occurred outside a Catholic church in Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia.

Two assailants riding a motorcycle with a Makassar license plate detonated a bomb when they tried to enter the church but were stopped by security.

The explosion caused the death of 2 attackers and injured more than 20 church staff and followers.

  After the explosion, Indonesian President Joko issued a statement severely condemning the terrorist attack. He ordered the police chief of the country to thoroughly investigate the terrorist criminal network and dig out its root cause.

  The "theocratic guerrillas" to which the two suicide bombers belonged are Indonesian local extremist organizations established in 2015 and loyal to the "Islamic State".

The organization has launched many terrorist attacks against police, civilians and religious sites in Indonesia.

In May 2018, members of the organization committed multiple suicide bombings in churches and police stations in Surabaya, Indonesia's second largest city, resulting in dozens of casualties.
