Russian Satellite News Agency quoted sources as saying on the 29th that the Suez Canal is expected to resume navigation within a few hours after the "Changci" cargo ship goes shallow.

According to the report, a source from the Suez Canal operating company named Gulf Agency Company stated that the ascent of the "Long Ci" freighter is progressing smoothly and the navigation of the canal is expected to resume within a few hours.

Reuters quoted a source in an earlier report as saying that the "Longci" has been straightened and returned to the "normal course", and the engine has been activated and is waiting for inspection.

The Suez Canal Authority stated that the ship direction of the "Long Ci" has recovered 80%, and the stern has been more than 100 meters away from the river bank.

However, Peter Bodowski, CEO of the Dutch shipping infrastructure company Boskalis, said that the floating of the "Long Ci" is good news, but completing the rescue work will not be a piece of cake.

In addition, the blockage of the Suez Canal also severely affected international shipping.

As many oil tankers were affected by the blockage of the canal, international oil prices rose accordingly, and only fell after the news of the surging of the cargo ships.
