Nuremberg (dpa / bb) - The Eisbären Berlin continued the positive trend of last week and celebrated their third victory in comparison with the clubs of the southern division in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

On Monday, the capital city won 3: 1 (1: 0, 0: 1, 2: 0) at the Nürnberg Ice Tigers.

Matt White and Leo Pföderl scored for the group leaders who had come without Mark Zengerle, Kris Foucault, Sebastian Streu and Pierre-Cédric Labrie.

In front of empty stands in the Nuremberg Arena, the home side put a lot of pressure on the Berlin goal from the start.

Nevertheless, it was the capital city club that scored the first goal.

Matt White used the space twice over and put the polar bears in the lead.

In the middle section, the clock rate remained high, but both sides could not convince in the build-up of the game, so that top-class scoring chances were missing.

It was only when two Berlin players were referred to the penalty bench during the intense game that Daniel Schmölz was able to equalize for Nuremberg.

In the final third, Berlin picked up again.

Leo Pföderl scored 2-1 for Berliners in his old place of work, after which White was successful a second time and thus sealed the victory of his team.
