Before the new coronavirus vaccination of the elderly begins next month, Deputy Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Yamamoto and Chairman Iizumi of the National Governors' Association confirmed that they will work together to facilitate the vaccination.

On the 29th, Deputy Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Yamamoto met with Chairman Iizumi of the National Governors' Association online before the inoculation of the elderly began on the 12th of next month.

In this, Deputy Minister Yamamoto said, "Because it will be a large-scale inoculation, cooperation with local governments such as careful preparation is indispensable. We would like to do our utmost to support the country so that a perfect system can be secured."

In response, Chairman Iizumi said, "I want you to cooperate so that you can alleviate the anxieties of the people and realize your great hopes."



In addition, Chairman Iizumi requested that information on side reactions be provided in an easy-to-understand manner, and that vaccines should be transported flexibly according to the actual conditions of the region so that inoculation would not be delayed.



On the other hand, in order to secure the medical care provision system in Miyagi prefecture, where the infection is spreading, Deputy Minister Yamamoto requested cooperation in dispatching nurses from all over the country.
