Freising (dpa / lby) - The police found more than 30 kilograms of drugs in two apartments in Freising, Upper Bavaria, which alleged dealers are said to have used as hiding places.

A resident called the police almost three weeks ago because a strong marijuana smell had come from a neighboring apartment, the police said on Monday.

The officers repeatedly searched the apartment, which was rented by a 35-year-old, and found six kilograms of amphetamines, 1.5 kilograms of marijuana and small amounts of other drugs.

The investigators finally found out that the man probably only used the apartment as a "bunker" for drugs.

They found small amounts of drugs in his actual apartment.

It was more by chance that the Erding police became aware of another suspect who came into the apartment during a search and had 30 grams of cocaine with him.

Investigators confiscated several keys that the 29-year-old was carrying.

So they tracked down another drug warehouse in the same building complex in Freising.

Among other things, they found 22 kilograms of marijuana, 50 grams of cocaine, over 200 ecstasy pills and 700 pills containing THC.

Both men are now in custody, and a suspected accomplice is being publicly searched.

They are suspected of having procured the narcotics in gang-like inspections and selling them at a profit.
