Cottbus (dpa) - The season in the Brandenburg Regional Football Association (FLB) has ended prematurely from now on.

The board of directors of the FLB unanimously agreed to a corresponding application from the game organizing bodies at an online meeting on Monday evening.

The cancellation applies to all age and game classes of the association and its football circles, announced the FLB.

“The Covid-19 pandemic continues to have serious effects on the 2020/21 season of the Brandenburg State Football Association.

A continuation of the suspended game operations is not foreseeable according to the current official rulings.

Even if we could play one or two more games at some point, a fair sporting rating would not be possible under these circumstances, ”said FLB managing director Anne Engel.

The association agreed that there would be neither promoted nor relegated.

The title master or relay winner is not awarded.

The division of the divisions for the new season is the same as that of the now prematurely ended season.

In the event that the superordinate Northeast German Football Association (NOFV) should grant promotion rights for its divisions, the FLB will determine and name a team eligible for promotion using the quotient rule.

The cup competitions at the state and district level should be played to the end, taking into account the official dispositions.

How the men's state cup winner can be determined will be determined in the coming days after a consultation with the clubs still in the competition.
