On March 28, local time, protests and rallies against discrimination against Asians were held in Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary and other cities in Canada.

In Toronto, Canada's largest city, different groups and organizations organized demonstrations.

Organized by the Federation of Canadian Chinese Associations and the Canadian Strait Cultural Exchange Foundation, local Chinese drove hundreds of cars around the Ontario Provincial Assembly, displaying slogans and honking horns in a parade.

The organizers called on the entire Canadian society to act immediately, take resolute measures to oppose discrimination, put an end to hateful behaviors, and promote the establishment of a multi-ethnic harmonious coexistence society.

[Concurrent] Chen Shengyuan, Representative of the Federal Republic of Canada

We stand here in solidarity and say that any form of discrimination is unacceptable.

There has always been a stereotype of Asian Canadians, which has caused them to be labeled as the so-called "Chinese virus", which is called the so-called "Kung Fu flu."

These are unacceptable terms.

[Concurrent] Ke Wenbin, Member of Parliament of Ontario, Canada

The attacks against Asians in North America during this period of time seem to have occurred more frequently in the United States.

In fact, according to the July 2019 report, if it is calculated based on the proportion of Asians, the incidence in Canada is higher than that in the United States.

  [Concurrent] Canadian Representative Ali Ehsassi

We have a responsibility not only to condemn it (discrimination against Asians), but to take action to ensure that this does not happen again.

Now is the time for us all to unite, public leaders, community leaders, we take immediate action.
