Dresden (dpa / sn) - A trial against three members of the Dresden hooligan group "Faust des Ostens" (FdO) begins today at the Dresden Regional Court.

The 30, 31 and 37 year old men all have to answer for forming a criminal organization.

In 2013, they were also charged with assault and theft in various instances.

The main hearing had been postponed for years because the State Security Chamber was overloaded with detention matters.

The defendants are at large.

Two of the accused are said to have been present when the group was founded in April 2010, which by autumn 2012 had up to 80 members.

The FdO is held responsible for violent attacks on members of other football clubs, police officers and people with a foreign appearance in the context of soccer games of the then second division club Dynamo Dresden.

Two of the defendants are charged with participating in an attack on foreigners in April 2011, in which right-wing extremist slogans were shouted and three of the attacked were injured.
