28 March 2021 The first GP of the season in Qatar goes to Maverick Viñales (Yamaha) on Zarco and Bagnaia on Ducati, fourth the world champion Mir (Suzuki).



Ducati immediately leads with Bagnaia, Miller, and Zarco.

Seventh Rossi, Petrucci crashes with the Ktm Tech3.

Zarco immediately manages to put Miller on and heels Pecco.

In the initial stages fourth Fabio Quartararo who does the fastest lap: 1'54 ”928;

fifth Viñales with the other official Yamaha.

Then the Yamahas show up.

When there are 14 laps to go, Quartararo and Viñales are behind Bagnaia and Zarco, Miller loses positions and Rins and Mir's Suzuki are behind him, while Valentino inexorably loses ground.



With arrogance Maverick Viñales in half a lap (at the eleventh) first overtakes Zarco and then attacks Bagnaia and overtakes him.

The Yamaha Spaniard is unleashed and on lap 15 takes the lead.

Quartararo still loses ground and leaves room for Rins and Mir Suzuki.

Viñales leaves: while Zarco snatches the second position from Bagnaia, who seems to be falling and is also overtaken by the reigning champion Mir.



The race is decided on the last lap and the last corner with an error by Mir, who goes wide while he was close to second place and the two Ducatis go to the podium.

Twelfth place for Valentino Rossi, with the Yamaha Petronas, 18th for team mate Fabio Morbidelli.

Crash without consequences on the first lap for Danilo Petrucci, also for Alex Márquez's Honda.
