Minister of Defense Kishi met with Indonesia's Defense Minister Prabowo, and both countries will work closely together toward the early recovery of the democratic political system regarding the shooting of security forces on citizens in Myanmar, and through joint training. We agreed to further promote our defense cooperation.

Minister of Defense Kishi met with Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo at the Ministry of Defense.

At the beginning, Minister Kishi said, "The two countries need to work closely together to maintain a free, open and stable ocean," while Defense Minister Prabowo said, "The relationship between the two countries is economic, political, and history. It is also very strong, and I would like to continue to strengthen it in the future. "

And they will work closely towards the early recovery of the democratic political system, as security forces fired on civilians and others who protested on military anniversary in Myanmar and caused many casualties. In addition to agreeing that, we confirmed that we will cooperate in responding to the launch of North Korean ballistic missiles.

Minister Kishi also expressed serious concern about the "Maritime Police Law," which allowed China to use weapons with the CCG, and both of them tried to unilaterally change the status quo by force, with China in mind as it strengthens its marine advancement. We strongly opposed it and agreed to further promote defense cooperation through joint training and other means.

On the 30th, the two countries will hold a ministerial consultation on foreign affairs and defense "2 plus 2" in Tokyo, and will further discuss the transfer of defense equipment.
