It was in November last year that the fall accident occurred at the nursing home.

The patient fell inside his own apartment and showed symptoms from the neck.

At that time, the patient was an "independent walker with a walker", according to the lex Maria report to IVO.

The brain X-ray showed nothing

On the same day, nurses performed inspections in the afternoon and at night, the emergency room at Gällivare Hospital was contacted but no action was taken.

Shortly afterwards, a doctor, occupational therapist and physiotherapist also make their assessments, but it takes until December before the patient is taken to Gällivare hospital, then with pain from the neck and further disabilities.

"A brain X-ray is performed but without remark", it says in the lex Maria report.

Fell in November - x-rayed in February

In January, the patient is visited by a doctor and further assessments are made by an occupational therapist and physiotherapist who establish disabilities.

Despite this, the patient does not have an X-ray of the neck and neck until February.

X-rays showed two fractures on a neck vertebra.

"The patient needs several aids at this time and has a great need for care," it says in the report to IVO.
