This decision was made with the aim of "ensuring compliance with the Constitution of Ukraine, human and civil rights and freedoms, ensuring state independence and national security," the resolution says.

At the end of December 2020, Zelensky signed a decree on the removal of Tupitsky from the position of judge of the Constitutional Court.

The Constitutional Court said that Tupitsky will continue to work, despite the decree on his removal.

At the end of January, Zelenskiy withdrew the draft law on the deprivation of the powers of judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine for revision, and on February 26 he signed a new decree to remove Tupitsky from office for one month.

On March 5, the head of the Ukrainian president's office, Andriy Yermak, said that a complete reset of the Constitutional Court with a change in its head is expected in Ukraine in the near future.
