"Today, our vaccine strategy relies heavily on the BioNTech laboratory associated with Pfizer, which has always been there since the start of the vaccination. This allows us to confirm the objective of 30 million French people vaccinated at the end of the month of June ", adds the Minister.

"I'm confident"

But can this milestone of three million doses delivered per week be maintained over time?

"We have variations that are linked to deliveries from Moderna, which delivers every other week. But roughly speaking, we are shooting between 2.5 and 3 million doses, with a gradual rise to nearly 4 million doses at the end of the day. April, early May ", replies Agnès Pannier-Runacher.

AstraZeneca's contract "must be kept"

Concerning the AstraZeneca vaccine, the tone is rising between Brussels and London.

The EU threatened Thursday to block exports of the vaccine developed by the Swedish-British laboratory, while AstraZeneca delivered only 30 of the 120 million doses promised in the first quarter.

"We are in the process of ensuring that a contract is respected. This contract must be kept," said Agnès Pannier-Runacher.

"It is the responsibility of the company to implement its contract in accordance with the clauses that have been adopted. We take our responsibilities and we use the levers available to States to ensure that this contract is respected", she adds.
