Bergisch Gladbach (dpa / lnw) - A resident and an employee were injured in a fire in a retirement home in Bergisch Gladbach.
During the rescue operation of the elderly woman both injuries and inhaled a lot of smoke, said a spokesman for the fire department.
They came to a hospital.
The fire broke out on Saturday in a patient room on the first floor for an initially unclear cause.
It burned out completely.
When the fire brigade arrived, the entire part of the building was already heavily smoky.
13 other residents were brought to safety with the help of the fire brigade.
At first it was assumed that the entire facility would have to be vacated.
That is why more than 100 emergency services were deployed.
